Fall in Love with Valldemossa

Updated: Jan 3, 2023

Today we are taking you on a day trip to the beautiful village of Valldemossa, located in the northern part of the island.

It is a very charming little town, punctuated by lots of tiny streets in which it feels liberating to get lost in.

We started our visit by the museum dedicated to the pianist Fryderyk Chopin and the writer Georges Sand, to which we dedicated a more detailed post right here.

Then, we went on a walk to enjoy the view offered from one of the viewpoints, From there, we could appreciate the wonderful nature surrounding Valdemossa, which is situated rather uphill, therefore offering a privilege perspective of Mallorca's green landscapes.

Our dreamy afternoon continued following the various paths of the village, leading us through poetic streets characterized by the aboundance of flower pots, colourful shutters, charming brick walls, terraces, and postcardlike sceneries.

After all that walking, we got a tad hungry, so we decided to taste some local pastries in an adorable little cafe & bakery with a hidden terrace in the back. We tried the typical coca de patata, a sweet bun that reminded us of some kind of brioche, which was quite tasty. Our second choice was a pastry made of shortcrust pastry filled with pumpkin jam, a rather unusual combination but we thought it worked very well together! If you're a fan of sweet beverages, you can also try their almond slushy, which seemed to be quite deemed in the area.

And on that sweet note, our afternoon in Valdemossa came to an end... But the trip didn't end here! Check out our post about Puerto de Soller, where we enjoyed a magical view and had a delicious dinner.

Will you visit Valldemossa? Or maybe you already had the chance to discover this magical place on the island? Tell us all about your experience in the comments!
